The Role

Would you like to make learning fun and engaging? We do. We’re looking for creative engineers to help expand our team and support our service on more devices, using React-Native App, Progressive Web App, even Gamepad interface isn’t unrealistic. We have some interesting technical challenges to distribute our app to more geographies via, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes? Character Profile/Experience

  • You should ideally have several years’ experience in software development working with other engineers.

  • A motivated, pro-active, self-starter with a success oriented attitude.
  • A demonstrated ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a real-time operational environment.

Specific Responsibilities

You will be part of the team, developing our products in line with security and performance best practice. You may also be involved in customer liaison, management of incidents, supporting colleagues, reporting on progress and resolving technical issues.

The Role

We’re looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join us on developing our learning platform and helping learners get a great experience, where ever they are in the world, which ever device they’re using.

You’ll take ownership of our deployment pipeline and expand our network to serve content to our global customers in the fastest time possible whilst maintaining integrity and reliability.

Skills

  • Experience in a similar DevOps Engineering / Lead DevOps role
  • Take charge and work autonomously
  • Experience with AWS / Rackspace
  • Good understanding of NodeJs
  • Container deloyments, Docker, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
  • Linux Administration
  • Continuous Deployment using tools such as Ansible
  • Understanding of CDN’s and how to use them effectively.
  • Log monitoring service such as Elk, Logstash
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – you don’t shy away from writing technical requirements / documentation
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a real-time operational environment.

Bonus

Any experience or exposure to OWASP, ISO27001, GDPR would be bonus.

About you

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager looking for a new challenge? 

You will need to have a proven capability for finding new revenue opportunities and bringing them over the line. Ideally, you’ve developed your career in the learning technology space, corporate communications or edtech. 

A collaborative approach is essential so you will have experience partnering with colleagues across functions in order to manage and close sales. You should be comfortable in a creative and down-to-earth environment – cultural fit will be important for us and for you.

Above all, you will be focussed on achieving ambitious revenue targets by successfully addressing the organisational objectives of potential new 5App clients. 

The Role

The Senior Business Development Manager role gets to the heart of client’s organisational challenges and goals by identifying creative solutions and delivering real impact. The right candidate will be both commercially and technically aware, and able to demonstrate a highly consultative approach. You’ll be capable of conducting high quality client interactions and leading complex conversations at all levels up to C-Suite.

This role is target-driven based on revenue achievements. It is a great opportunity for a self-starter to make a real difference in growing a young company.

To do this you will be confident and comfortable in your ability to develop a pipeline by generating prospects (using written communications, social media, your own contacts and networks) as well as acting on leads generated by marketing and know what it takes to nurture relationships through to revenue. 

The Senior BDM also acts as a valued advisor to colleagues, customers and prospects by staying in tune with a highly competitive and fast moving market, keeping up-to-date with latest trends and following industry thought leaders. 

Through your interactions you will also feedback to your team regularly to help develop new ideas and solutions and optimise 5App products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Generate a pipeline of prospects using your network, social media, email, events,  and progress them through to revenue
  • Manage and deliver a consultative sales pipeline process, building out new processes where necessary
  • Prepare bids and proposals across an international market, translating business requirements into creative solutions
  • Work closely with marketing to define sales strategies for target audiences
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships through regular high-quality interactions, webinars, product demos, pitches and presentations 
  • Evolve 5App’s pricing model to stay competitive in the market, whilst reflecting the value the product delivers 
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, managing relationships through to closing

Required skills and experience  

  • Demonstrable track record of achieving ambitious revenue targets 
  • Well developed prospecting skills and approaches, a self starter and a hunter
  • An understanding of B2B SaaS pricing approaches, across direct and indirect sales channels
  • 5yrs+ experience in an B2B enterprise sales setting, in learning technologies, communications or edtech
  • Extensive knowledge of the SaaS/CaaS platform market in learning / LXP / LMS, communications, or HR systems (ideally across these areas) 
  • International sales experience, successfully attacking new global markets
  • Passion for technology and solutions around learning and communications
  • A broad and deep understanding of how products and services influence organisational outcomes for clients – whether it’s meeting important regulatory requirements or supporting culture change 
  • An articulate and emotionally intelligent communicator, confident dealing with clients at all levels and technical delivery teams

 Bonus

  • Previous experience within Content as a Service industry 
  • Understanding of learning design principles
  • Experience working in a small team or entrepreneurial setting
